Cleaning up in eBiss

Over time, depending on the transaction volume, many messages, process instances and tasks can accumulate in eBiss. These should be periodically cleaned up or deleted as with House Keeping or Cleanup. This is because eBiss is not recommended as an archive system1)

Therefore, there is a so called CleanUp Job, which is available for import in the eBiss installation directory in the folder

..\StandardTemplates\Jobs\CleanupJob

together with a suitable time controlled event listner.

This contains the following job steps

In this scenario, it is also possible to trigger external processes with the step ExecuteExternal in order to carry out further cleanup work in the eBiss environment.

Note: If you want to clean up specific Messageboxes, you can use Selective deletion of messages.

1)
There are suitable methods for transferring messages from eBiss to an archive system and marking these messages accordingly.
2)
This can be used to set global or node-specific message deletion by message age.
3)
These are records of the called and thus instantiated jobs.
4)
This jobstep takes care of the archiving of the logfiles generated by eBiss. If they are not rotated, they can grow to unwanted sizes that are difficult for editors to handle. The eBiss Client must be closed at runtime of this job so that the log files can be moved
5)
This can be used to delete tasks with an age to be determined.
